Alexandra's Playground is committed to giving more children the opportunity for safe and active play. Each year Alexandra Playground identifies and assembles playgrounds for deserving communities within the tri-state area and building essentials playgrounds in Haiti. Children who are privileged to be occupied in safe active play, wind up becoming physical, emotionally, and cognitively healthy. Nevertheless the chances for safe active play are recognized as terrorizing. Today children seen less time going outside to play and live out the the playground experience.
The mission of the organization is to inspire safe active play with the desire of experiencing productive and active lifestyles. The organization focuses on three core areas, which are, as followed: building playgrounds, prevent injuries, creating programming in which motivates activity, and preaching the importance of safe active play. They also participated in the Annual AAOO Playground build. When it comes to partnerships, Alexandra's Playground partner with other organizations to hold and gather up each other's attempt to meet a one common goal to ensure children having opportunities for safe active play.
Alexandra's Playground was a great opportunity to give back to the community and be able to help renovate a new playground at School 26 located in Paterson, New Jersey. The new playground will support more than 500 students from Kindergarten to 8th graders in the school and give a safe place to play for an over populated community. The amount of people that contributed as well as myself was unmatched. The playground is designed for ages 5-12 and includes the following: two slide, a bridge, double play tower, supernova, and climbing nets. The excitement on the youth faces will be fulfilling for years to come. This was an extreme humbling experience and I do hope I get to experience it again in the near future.
